How could B.C. students get more involved with the community

I feel like if you live on campus it is kinda difficult to really get out and get involved in Atchison. However i feel that once you are off campus you can easily get involved, i feel like a good first step is getting to know your neighbors. Go introduce your self, the chances are they probally are not going to like you very much if you like to have parties but putting a face with a name can somtimes ease the process. have them over for a grill out to make up for the parties and im sure you will become somewhat tolerable with eachother if not actually make a new friend.

I agree with what Nick is saying. The first 2 years at BC i didnt spend much time off-campus unless i was with the soccer team or at home in Kansas City, the Atchison community is not like larger communities with areas for students and community members to gather. As i got off campus my junior year i started to be opened up to what the community has to offer including places such as muellers and flyers. Both of those places could do something to help bring the members of the community and the college together by simply hosting nights where they are integrated at the bars. I am not saying this is the best way to get involved with the community but it would be a start to an already existing relationship with a eatery/bar. At the same time Nick said go introduce yourself to your neighbors i agree and we have a good relationship with our neighbors that live by us here in town. All it will take for the community to unite is a little bit of time an leeway by both sides to make change.
